Mini-Series Banners

So I love the mini-series banners and I'm Lovin Books but it seems there were some off the wall series I enjoyed that weren't on her page, and there were some that I wanted to make that she didn't have. So, I decided to start making my own and sharing them for my wonderful followers to use! So without further ado, click on the Mini-Series Banner tab at the top!

I will be taking some requests if you find that there's one you would want, please let me know in the comments!

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Should Be Reading. Anyone can play!
Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)

The Immortal Rules
Julie Kagawa

The quote:

"I smiled wistfully, remembering when I had taken such pleasure in a can of fruit. I wished I could've tried some, but Kanin had warned me that normal food would make me sick, and my body would expel it almost immediately. Meaning I would hurl it back up, something I did not want to do in front of a group of strangers."

Back to school. Create a reading list for the imaginary English Lit class you’ll be teaching this semester.
Well, I have to say that I couldn't stand most of the books I read in high school. I know they're classics and everyone should read classics, but I feel like kids should be reading books that pertain to this century too.  Teaching the classics are important, but it also puts most kids off from reading. Introducing newer books that still have a god message and literary elements, like The Hunger Games, I think would get more kids involved in their class and reading as a whole! So my list would include :
The Huger Games
Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes
Ender's Game
The Fault in Our Stars
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Thirteen Reasons Why

 This week's book is:

My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century
Author: Rachel Harris

The quote:
"Slowly the guy turns, and I fall headfirst into the richest chocolate-brown eyes I've ever seen. He blinks, and long, luscious lashes feather across his bronzed cheeks. I feel myself gawking, just like I did with Skater Boy yesterday at the piazza, but I physically can't drag my eyes away. Lorenzo doesn't smirk or act all conceited like the other guy, either. He simply stares back, his eyes casually skimming over me, causing my skin to warm and break out in a whole body tingle."

Swoon Thursday (1)

Swoon Thursday is a meme created by the wonderful ladies over at YA Bound! The rules are:

From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

Shout it out on Twitter with the hashtag #YABound, post it here in the comments, or grab the steamy button above and share it on your blog. We want to know!

My Swoon Thursday comes from the The Iron Queen, featuring my number one book boyfriend, Ashallyn' darkmyr Tallyn, otherwise known as Prince Ash! I couldn't just pick one. I really couldn't lol! So here's a couple, since I've been listening to the whole series on audible lately!

“I think our last kiss was meant to be quick and chaste, but after the first touch of his lips fire leaped up and roared through my belly. My fingers yanked him close, digging into his back, and his arms crushed me to him as if wanting to meld us together. I knotted my fingers in his hair and bit down on his bottom lip, making him groan. His lips parted, and my tongue swept in to dance with his. There was nothing sweet or gentle in our last kiss; it was filled with sorrow and desperation, of the bitter knowledge that we could've had something perfect, but it just wasn't meant to be.”

  • “I will be with her again, or I will die. There aren't any other options.”
  • “I was Ashallayn’darkmyr Tallyn, son of Mab, former prince of the Unseelie Court, and I was not afraid of a witch on a broom.”
  • “Touch her, and I'll freeze your testicles off and put them in a jar. Understand?”
  • “My name is Ashallyn'darkmyr Tallyn, third son of the Unseelie Court...Let it be known--from this day forth, I vow to protect Meghan Chase, daughter of the Summer King, with my sword, my honor, and my life. Her desires are mine. Her wishes are mine. Should even the world stand against her, my blade will be at her side. And should it fail to protect her, let my own existence be forfeit. This I swear, on my honor, my True Name, and my life. From this day on..." His voice went even softer, but I still heard it as though he whispered it into my ear. "I am yours.”
  • “A soft noise, almost a sob. Ash rose, hesitated, as if fighting the compulsion to obey. "I will always be your knight, Meghan Chase," he whispered in a strained voice, as if every moment he remained was painful to him. "And I swear, if there is a way for us to be together, I will find it. No matter how long it takes. If I have to chase your soul to the ends of eternity, I won't stop until I find you, I promise."
  • "I know my role here," I continued. "Whatever happens, I'm still your knight, and nothing will change that. You are queen of this realm, and I have no desire to rule. That said, fighting your enemies, standing with you no matter what comes at us. But I'm no longer satisfied with just being your knight and protector. I want something more". I stopped and took a deep breath, then slowly released her hands, stepped back and sank to one knee. "What I'm trying to ask is...Meghan Chase, will you do me the honor of marrying me?”

Okay that was a lot. But I seriously can't get enough of him!

What's your Swoon Thursday?

I liked this one even better than the first. America is a dumb bitch. The One needs to come out tomorrow!

Review to come.

REVIEW

Warning: there will be many spoilers in this review. Unfortunately I just can't help myself.

I want to say one important thing before I start ranting here: we finally found out where they are. Angeles? Really. No. Just. I feel like Buffy is going to jump out with Angel. Mleh. Okay rant time.

America is the stupidest bitch I have ever had the pleasure of reading about. I mean, really, you say you want to be with the poor guy (Maxon/Max that is). You tell him you have made your decision to be with him. He gets all prepared to propose because he LOVES YOU, and all of a sudden you're like, "no". I'm sorry that your friend got caned. I really am. But I'm kinda with Celeste on this one. For serious. She could have gone home so many times. SO MANY TIMES. But she chose to stay and carry on the tryst with Woodwork (also, seriously? Woodwork? That's the best you could come up with? Sigh.) I feel bad, but you could have avoided it. And, you'd think with the torture she just witnessed her friend go through she'd think twice about secret rendezvous with Alex (Aspen for those who haven't read my review of The Selection). But, alas, no. Instead we're going to continue and risk our own lives to make out with our ex, who is working in the palace as a guard, and Max doesn't know. Of course. Le. Sigh.

America. Let me level with you for a minute. You told both these guys you don't know what you want. Yet you get pissed when the prince (who still has to choose a wife no matter what you decide chica) spends more time with other girls, or makes out with them. YOU ARE DOING THE SAME THING! You're sneaking off to make our with "Office Leger"! GAH! YOU ARE SUCH A HYPOCRITE. Please. For everyone's sake. Make up your damn mind.

As far as Max is concerned: I love you. THIS is the kind of guy girls should be dreaming about. Not some stalker vampire watching you sleep (yes I'm talking to you sparkles). The bad bou thing has just been overplayed. It's refreshing to see a love interest who is so damn sweet, which is why America pisses me off so much the way she treats him. YOU ARE NOT WORTHY. Maxy-pooh. Please just forget about her. Come and get me.

Ol' Maxy-boy did piss me off a bit with Celeste. But really, if I was in the same position would I really not do the same thing? Not to mention he doesn't even KNOW about Aspen! I can't wait till he finds out *evil grin while rubbing hands together...evily*. I of course want them to be together. But I wouldn't be too disappointed if the rebels have America killed and Maxon is so heartbroken he has to start all over The Selection in the real world and picks me instead.... :)

So beyond all my ranting I read this book in one day. I seriously couldn't put it down. I love this series so much. Please, please, please NetGalley I'm begging you. Please have this on your site so that I may fulfill my need to read this book. Thank you in advance because I know you will take my pleading to heart!!! :)

As I've said before in other reviews, I absolutely LOVE books based on fairytales@ I grew up on The LIttle Mermaid, Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty! (BTW, Auror is my favorite princess, with Cinderella and Rapunzel close behind!) So when I read this synopsis I knew I had to read this book.

This was an awesome twist of Rapunzel and Snow White!  And, weird as it sounds, it totally makes sense. I understand why she went "evil", if that's what you want to call her. I feel for her. As the story went on, it just kept getting worse for her.  It was horrible. And I can't stand Prince Josef.

There really wasn't a set protagonist or antagonist through this. Everyone was kinda their own antagonists. There were so many twists in this book I had some trouble keeping up at points, but the twists made it awesome! Especially the ending!! Oh, what an ending!

My opinion:  READ THIS BOOK! You won't regret it!

Let's Make a Movie!

Rapunzel - Brittany Snow

I think she is absolutely beautiful and could totally pull of the role of Rapunzel. She is very lady like and she already has the blonde hair!

Madame Mathena Gothel - Melina Kanakaredos

I think she is gorgeous! She's the right age, and she is exactly what I was picturing when reading about Mathena! I think she is perfect!

Prince Josef - Ian Somerhalder

Sigh. If this man showed up on my door step out of the blue I'd have trouble not letting him climb up my hair too. Ian is perfect for the prince! He has those chiseled facial features, he's hott, and he already plays an arrogant sometimes asshole on Vampire Diaries! And, those eyes! Plus, who doesn't want to see that naked!

Snow White (Age 7) - Mackenzie Foy

As soon as I saw this girl, I knew she was my 7 year old Snow White. She's so pretty and she did an awesome job in Breaking Dawn as Renesmee. She, to me, is the perfect Snow White.

Snow White (Age 15) - Miranda Cosgrove

Gorgeous and young, Miranda Cosgrove is perfect as we see Snow White age 8 years in the novel. I think she is a perfect match for an older Mackenzie Foy and her features are perfect to play the cream skinned, 15 year old Snow White.

Gilles - Liam Hemsworth

......okay now that I've stopped drooling I can continue. Just. Look at him. He's perfect. He's the perfect Gilles. He's incredibly gorgeous and I think he would play an incredible falconer. Just see him in Hunger Games and you'll know I'm right :)
