This week's question is:
Do your reading habits change based on your mood? Do you read a certain genre if you are feeling depressed or happy?
They kind of do.  I once got into a really bad depression mood, and literally all I did for one summer was read Twilight.  (This was the summer after my Sophomore year of HS)  I didn't leave the house for about 2 weeks.  I just read Twilight.  I don't even know why.  It seems like when I was in a depressed mood I would just want to read romance.  Or maybe I was depressed BECAUSE I was reading romance and I was single.  That doesn't seem to happen anymore though (maybe thanks to my boyfriend lol).  I've been so used to reading dark, paranormal romances and dark books like Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma, and I've been both happy and sad reading them, so I don't really have a set habit for mood.

 The Friday 56 (3)

The Friday 56 is a weekly meme hosted by Freda @ Freda's Voice.  The rules:

Then hop over to her page and link up!

"He stuck his head out the door, looking down the tunnel.  'This is a dream. You realize that, don't you?'"

TGIF (4)
TGIF is a weekly meme hosted by Ginger @ GReads! Every week she asks a fun question to answer and you can recap what you've been up to the past week!

This week's question is:

Book Olympics: In the spirit of the Olympics, which books would you give the gold, silver, and bronze medals to? It can be from any genre, new or old.

Ah! This is difficult.... Okay.  Like Ginger, I'm going to have to go with books I've read this year cause there is no way I am going back and trying to just pick 3 books....

GOLD
The Iron Fey Series gets Gold from me. (I had to pick The Iron Knight cover cause. Well. Ash. *Swoon*)  I absolutely LOVE this series (AND I just got approved for an E-ARC of The Lost Prince. WHOOP!)   I adore the characters in this story, I adore the scenes, the premise, Grimalkin.  Everything, I absolutely beyond love!  These books (and the Wings series by Aprilynne Pike) got me absolutely hooked on faeries (but The Iron Fey more!)

SILVER
Pandemonium.  One of THE best dystopian novels I have ever read.  Next to the first one, Delirium.  This is just, incredible.  Because it is so, utterly, believable.  A world where Love is forbidden, and in fact a disease.  I can see it happening.  We're already living in a world where people call being homosexual a disease.  So why is it so unbelievable that someone, one day, will call being in Love a disease?  Everyone should read this series.  No doubt!

BRONZE
I love the Wings quartet.  It's what originally got me into reading about faeries.  So I was really excited when Destined came out this year.  While it wasn't everything I expected it to be, I still loved it as a wrap up of the series.  I did find myself skimming through parts of it (AKA fight scenes) it was still a very good series end.  Oh, and if you didn't read the David letter at the back of the book, I would say if you're Team David, don't do it.  It will leave you feeling so sad.  But it was really good.  Better than the original ending I think!

I realized that I haven't posted an actual review on here in a few weeks.  So starting next week I'm going to put a bunch up!!  I got a few books from NetGalley (The Lost Prince!!!!!!!!!!!) so I'll be reading and reviewing those soon!

Until Next Time

Keep♥Reading

  2. Love the F56, so ironic. Also, why does she dream of tunnels? That's not a good sign! I can imagine that reading just romance doens't make you feel any better when you're depressed and single, it would probably drive me crazy! Thanks for sharing!

Nah, how I'm feeling wont sway me one way or another to read a specific book. As long as the book is engaging and has some paranormal aspect in it, I'm good. :-)

  8. I really should read The Iron Fey series. It's just that I have a thing with fairy books - and I'm always unsure if I should give them a try or not. But this one comes highly recommended!

  10. You know, I don't think my mood affects the books I read, but the books I read definitely affect my mood (if they're good!)

Great answer this week! I'm your newest follower :)

  11. Loooved The Iron Knight! Still have to finish up the Wings series, I read the first book but then I got caught up in other reads!

My mood doesn't effect what I read. I read paranormals because I enjoy them. So if I am in a cruddy mood, I'll still read a paranormal! They can usually put me in a good mood.

It's good to have a comfort book though! When I didn't have a whole variety of paranormals to read I would re-read the same books over and over. There's comfort in those and that's what I needed at the time too!

    Here's my Friday Hops

    Have a GREAT weekend!
