Friday Fun (2)

Follow Friday (4)

The wonderfulness of Parajunkee @ Parajunkee's View and Alison @ Alison Can Read host this weekly soiree each week! They feature a specific blogger in the book blogger community and ask a question for you to answer! You get to discover a bunch of new blogs, and get a bunch of new followers!

 The rules are simple:
Create a post like this one.
Visit Parajunkee and Alison and follow them.
Leave your name and blog link on their blogs.
Visit the other people on the list.
Leave them a comment saying hi.
Follow them.
They follow you.
BAM!
More followers!

This week's question is:
What would you do over if you were to start your blog again from scratch?
I definitely wouldn't have taken that basically 2 year hiatus.  Even though I started my blog 2 years ago, it wasn't till recently that I got dedicated with it.  I'm learning now though about how much social networking can help promote your blog and that blogging isn't just for you, but for your followers as well.  You have to make your blog what you want, and what your audience wants.  My blog is specifically designed to more attract teens, because of the YA genre that I mostly review, but I find that more often than not I have more adults than teens visiting my blog.  I'll be 20 this year so I will officially be out of the teen range myself, but I still gear my blog towards teens because that's what the YA genre was made for (though there is absolutely nothing wrong with adults loving YA too!)

 The Friday 56 (4)

The Friday 56 is a weekly meme hosted by Freda @ Freda's Voice.  The rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56.
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don't spoil it) that grabs you.
*Post it.

Then hop over to her page and link up!

 This week's book is:

The quote:
"My gaze remained fixed on the crystal, and I felt the energy shoot out through my eyes.  I heard the crystal shatter, tiny shards exploding everywhere."

So far a wonderful book, and it's only $0.99 at the Kindle Store! If you don't have a kindle you can always get the paperback version for $9.99, or download the Kindle app to your smartphone, iPod, iPhone, tablet, etc.  You can also get it at Shmashwords or Barnes & Nobles.  This is a self-published book!

TGIF (5)
TGIF is a weekly meme hosted by Ginger @ GReads! Every week she asks a fun question to answer and you can recap what you've been up to the past week!

This week's question is:

Unexpected Books: Which books did you have reservations about reading, but ended up loving once you did?

I feel like Twilight is my answer for a lot of these question but it's the true answer!  I held off for quite a few years before reading the Twilight series.  I was never into paranormal stuff (ha, look at me now!)  I admit that Twilight was the first book to lead me into paranormal romance, which is now my favorite genre of books!

Until Next Time

Keep♥Reading

  4. I know Twilight is why a lot of people fell into the paranormal genre. I was already in it before then, and I have nothing against Twilight. I just didn't like it all that much. But of course when I tell people I love reading paranormal, they bring up Twilight. Which kind of irks at me sometimes, but at least when I am with other bloggers and readers it doesn't come up that much.

    Here's my Friday Hops

  7. I think adults are a huge percentage of the YA reading audience.

I actually started my blog for something else entirely, never used it, then randomly started using it for books. Talk about not having a plan!

    My follow friday. Please visit!

  10. I wish I could remember where I read it, but I once read "Young adult isn't a genre, it's a state of mind" and that's SO true! I'm almost 23 but I still read almost 100% young adult stuff. lol.

  12. Hopping by and now following, too! I also started my blog two years ago and have felt the pressure of real life vs. time spent on my blog. I am glad I stuck it out though.

I love your blog - its design is gorgeous and the music you have incorporated is great.

    Take care and happy reading,
